Gunite was appointed as main contractor for the contract to clean and repair the 3400m2 of Portland Stone facades of the British Council's headquarters in the centre of
We proposed and used the DOFF system of superheated water under pressure to remove the dirt and soiling from the surface of the stone before carrying out stone repairs using Remmers materials carefully colour-matched to the existing.
Works were carried out from electric powered access cradles suspended from the roof, which enabled the whole contract to be completed in just five weeks.
