20th Century Listed Buildings
Many 20th century reinforced concrete and steel framed buildings are now Listed by English Heritage. These structures often require a regular programme of maintenance to manage their long-term durability.
For reinforced concrete structures, Gunite can source materials similar to those used in the original construction and then site batch, to match the existing mix design and texture finish. If long-term reinforcement corrosion problems exist, cathodic protection can also be employed to minimise future problems.
Early 20th Century steel-framed structures can suffer from corrosion, evident in cracking of the brick or stone facades. Gunite can design and install impressed current cathodic protection systems to stop such corrosion problems from reoccurring as part of an overall repair plan.
