Gunite Embarks on Major Retraining of Health & Safety Initiatives
To maintain and achieve improvements in health and safety standards, and in line with the Construction Industry's and Clients' ‘Zero Harm' Schemes,
Gunite have subsequently re-trained all of their front line Supervisors/Crew
Foremen and Managers over recent months.
All now hold at least the industry
accredited Site Supervisors Safety Plus Training Scheme qualification (SSSTS)
or Site Managers Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS).
All Operatives, Supervisors and Managers carry the
appropriate CSCS cards - all front line Supervisors hold PASMA and IPAF, and many
hold First Aid qualifications. Gunite’s
own in-house Safety Advisor has embarked on a rigorous campaign to ensure that
Tool Box Talks are being given and that all crews are attending re-training
and issuing of Grinding Wheels Certificates by an approved trainer.
A campaign of Asbestos Awareness has
also been carried out with all employees. Gunite’s Safety Advisor
visits all construction sites on a regular basis and provides positive feedback
to Gunite operatives, staff and equally importantly to our client team.
Gunite are working together with our
clients in trying to achieve the goal of Zero Harm.
