Fire Door Replacement at the University of Brighton
When the Estates Department of the University of Brighton were looking for suitable 3rd party accredited contractors to undertake fire door replacement, they began with the LPCB. The Loss Prevention Certification Board (part of BRE Global) operates a List of Approved Fire & Security Products and Services known as the Red Book.
As a result of our LPCB accreditation we were contracted to install and replace communal fire doorsets at the University’s Grand Parade Campus.
We worked closely with the Estates Department to minimise any disruption to the University’s activities. All of our fire door replacement was therefore carried out during the summer holidays.
Our scope of works included:
- Fire door survey
- Removal of old fire doorsets
- Installation of FD30 compartmentation fire doorsets
- Asbestos removal
- Replacement of suspended ceilings
- Installation of fire-rated glazing to existing screens and vision panels
