Grade II* Listed Trellick Tower External Refurbishment and Restoration Works

Gunite are privileged to have been part of a £7.2 million project to restore this historically significant tower block in Kensal Town, London.

Opened in 1972 and Grade II* listed in 1998, Trellick Tower is an iconic block of flats standing 31 storeys high, a famous example of Brutalist architecture designed by Erno Goldfinger.

Appointed by Wates Living Space, on behalf of Kensington and Chelsea Tenant Management Organisation (KCTMO), Gunite were tasked with concrete and mastic repairs to the internal surfaces, the service tower and blocks A and B.

Our Scope of Works:

  • Visual survey providing in-depth report and drawings
  • Hammer testing
  • Carbonation and chloride testing
  • Removal of defective concrete
  • Matched patch repairs
  • Removal and replacement of all construction and  panel joints
